Howdy! My name is Sam and I'm a Graphic Designer. I tend to take a practical approach to design and have realized that both poor and effective visual communication can be found everywhere. With an acute sense for functional design, I like to keep things simple. You might notice that this preference presents itself by examining my work. I not only believe that "great design" improves the perception of things, but that it lends itself to an improved standard of living. In the age of abundance, the ability for us to differentiate products and services is becoming very difficult. That is why design is so important and why it continues to interest and inspire me. I've been happily married to my wife Valerie for nine years now. We have two awesome children named Jadyn, who is seven years old, and Tai who is three. We enjoy going to the park, coloring books, and Dad's favorite... Disney movies.

I love Soccer, Golf, Snowboarding, and Mt. Biking. I try to make it to the gym at least 2-3 times a week.

Interests

Music has always been a huge inspiration for my work. With a very diverse taste in music, I enjoy everything from Post-Modern and Progressive Rock to Downbeat and Ambient Electronica. Architecture also inspires me. The challenge of designing a building that is aesthetically pleasing as well as structurally sound is a very intriguing subject. Other hobbies of mine include motion graphics, playing the guitar, and woodworking.

Accomplishments & Goals

I had the opportunity to live in Japan, become fluent in Japanese, and serve as a fulltime missionary. I'm currently teaching myself how to play the guitar. Last year, I finally had the chance to go skydiving. I hope to someday take up photography and painting.
